Data Operations Engineer Real World Data

  • On-site, Hybrid
    • Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
  • CUO | Services | LS

Job description

Our mission

We turn data into better healthcare. With our insights, we make healthcare more affordable and improve the experience of patients and doctors.

Your impact and responsibilities

The potential to improve healthcare quality is significant, given the wide variations in medications, treatment decisions, healthcare costs, and patient outcomes. At the same time, hospitals face growing pressure to control costs and boost efficiency. To deliver better care while managing expenses, hospitals need a clear view of their health outcomes and the costs associated with medications and treatments. Likewise, pharmaceutical companies must understand where their medicines can create the most value. The reports, dashboards, analytics, and Impact Programs developed by RWD provide the insights needed to meet these challenges.

As a data operations engineer, you ensure the correct data in these analyses. Your responsibilities include.

  • Independently validating and analyzing data with the aim of guaranteeing data quality standards

  • Maintaining and configuring our ETL pipelines

  • Supporting customers with data deliveries

  • Identifying issues in existing data pipelines and implementing improvements together with the Data product & development teams

  • Creating data exports for our clients, by combining the right data sets and setting the correct pseudonymizations

  • You are the go-to person for analysts and clients with all their questions about data. You are a knowledge bearer about the data within our team. You know all the ins and outs, know exactly what the different fields entail and what the limitations are.

Your team

You will be part of the Real World Data, data operations team; a motivated, results-oriented, and analytically strong team with a drive to improve healthcare. Many specific areas of expertise are represented within the team. This ensures both a deep and broad knowledge base within the team, allowing you to focus, maintain the challenge, but also learn from and support each other. We work with the semi-agile team in sprints with room for ad-hoc work.

Job requirements

Your profile

We trust that the following skills and qualifications will contribute to your success in this position:

  • 0-3 years of relevant working experience in the field of data analytics, data science and/ or data engineering

  • MSc. diploma with a quantitative, science, research or (medical) technical background

  • You have experience with coding in at least 1 coding language (Python, SQL, R)

  • You speak Dutch and English fluently

It's a plus if:

  • You feel comfortable in an informal but professional environment where you have a lot of freedom and responsibility.

  • You are enthusiastic about advanced data analysis, processing pipelines and solving 'big data' problems in healthcare

  • You learn quickly and are driven to continue developing

  • You are a real 'number cruncher' with excellent analytical skills and an eye for the completeness and quality of data.

  • You are a "team player", and feel comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders

  • You are results-oriented, with a structured way of working and a pragmatic mentality

We believe that eagerness to learn is more important than meeting all requirements. So even if you don't think you meet 100% of the criteria, we still invite you to apply. We look forward to your application.
